How to Get to HYROX Cardiff

By Plane
✈️ Nearest Airport: Cardiff Airport (CWL) is the closest airport. It’s about 12 miles (19 km) west of the city centre.
🚖 Getting to the Venue:
- Taxi/Rideshare: You can grab a taxi or use ride-sharing apps like Uber or Bolt at the airport. The drive to the Principality Stadium usually takes around 30-40 minutes, but traffic can vary. Check the fare before you hop in!
- Train & Bus: From Cardiff Airport, you can take a bus to Rhoose Cardiff International Airport train station. Then, you can catch a train to Cardiff Central Station, which is right next to the Principality Stadium. This is normally the cheapest way.
By Train
🚆 Nearest Train Station: Cardiff Central Station is the closest train station and it’s literally right next to the Principality Stadium! This station has connections from all over Wales and England.
By Bus
🚌 Cardiff has a good bus network. You can use the Transport for Wales (TfW) website to plan your bus journey to the city centre or directly to the Principality Stadium area.
By Car
🚗 Navigation: Type “Principality Stadium, Westgate Street, Cardiff, CF10 1NS” into Google Maps, Waze, or Apple Maps.

🚙 Parking: Parking in Cardiff city centre can be tricky, especially on event days. It’s best to use public transport if you can. If you have to drive, look for city centre car parks, but be prepared for them to fill up quickly.

- Transport for Wales (TfW): This is the website for trains and buses in Wales. You can find timetables, plan journeys, and buy tickets here. They also have a good app.
- National Rail: This website has information on train services across the UK, including trains to Cardiff Central.
💡 Travel Tips:
✔️ Check train and bus schedules: Always check the TfW and National Rail websites or apps for the latest schedules and any possible delays before you travel.
✔️ Arrive early: Give yourself plenty of time (at least 1-2 hours) to travel to the Principality Stadium, find your way around, check in, and warm up. It’s better to be early than late!
✔️ Stay nearby: Staying in a hotel in Cardiff city centre will make getting to the Principality Stadium super easy.
✔️ Contactless Payments: Most places in Cardiff accept contactless payments (credit/debit cards or phone), but it’s always good to have some British Pounds (£) on hand for small things or just in case.
