How to Get to HYROX Mumbai
Okay, HYROX Mumbai is at the NESCO Center, Western Express Hwy, NESCO, Goregaon, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400063.
Let’s figure out the best way to get you there!
By Plane
✈️ Nearest Airport: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) is the main airport serving Mumbai. It’s about 10-15 km (6-9 miles) from the NESCO Center, but traffic can be really unpredictable, so the travel time can vary a lot.
🚖 Getting to the Venue:
- Taxi/Rideshare: You can easily get a pre-paid taxi at the airport or use ride-sharing apps like Uber or Ola. This is probably the most common way to get to NESCO. Just be prepared for traffic – it can be very heavy in Mumbai, especially during rush hour. Agree on a fare with the taxi driver before you leave, or check the app for rideshares.
- BEST Buses: Mumbai has a huge bus network run by BEST (Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport). There are bus routes that go near NESCO, but navigating the bus system can be a bit challenging if you’re not familiar with it. You can try using online bus route planners, but they’re not always up-to-date.
By Train
🚆 Nearest Train Station: Goregaon Railway Station is the closest station to NESCO. Mumbai has a very extensive suburban rail network, and getting to Goregaon by train is often a good option, especially if you’re coming from other parts of Mumbai. Once you get to Goregaon station, you can take an auto-rickshaw (a small three-wheeled vehicle) or a taxi to NESCO.
By Local Transport (Train, Auto-rickshaw, Bus)
- Local Train: Mumbai’s local train network is very important for getting around. You can take a train to Goregaon station, and then take an auto-rickshaw or taxi to NESCO.
- Auto-rickshaw: Auto-rickshaws are a very common way to travel short distances in Mumbai. You can bargain with the driver about the fare. They’re good for getting from Goregaon station to NESCO, for example.
- BEST Bus: Like we mentioned earlier, BEST buses go all over Mumbai. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can try to find a bus that goes near NESCO, but it might take some time and effort.
By Car
🚗 Navigation: Type “NESCO Center, Western Express Hwy, NESCO, Goregaon, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400063” into Google Maps, Waze, or Apple Maps.

- Indian Railways: This is the website for Indian Railways, where you can find train schedules and book tickets for long-distance trains.
💡 Travel Tips:
✔️ Check traffic: Mumbai traffic is notorious for being heavy and unpredictable. Use a navigation app or ask locals about traffic conditions before you leave. Give yourself plenty of time to get to NESCO, especially if you’re traveling during rush hour.
✔️ Get there really early: Give yourself at least 2-3 hours (or even more) to travel to NESCO, find your way around the complex, check in, and warm up. Mumbai can be a challenging city to navigate, so it’s always better to be early.
✔️ Stay nearby (if possible): If you can find a hotel or accommodation near NESCO in Goregaon, it will make getting to HYROX much easier.
✔️ Bargain for auto-rickshaws: Auto-rickshaw drivers will often try to charge tourists more. Don’t be afraid to bargain and negotiate the fare before you get in.
✔️ Cash is king: While some places might accept cards, it’s always a good idea to have plenty of Indian Rupees (INR) cash on hand. You’ll need it for taxis, auto-rickshaws, small shops, and maybe even some food stalls.
✔️ Be prepared for crowds: Mumbai is a crazily crowded city. Be prepared for crowds on trains, buses, and even on the streets.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (formerly Prince of Wales Museum): This museum is a treasure trove of Indian art and artifacts, including sculptures, paintings, and textiles. It’s a great place to learn about India’s rich history and culture.
Elephanta Caves: Take a short ferry ride to Elephanta Island to explore these ancient cave temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. The carvings are incredible and offer a glimpse into India’s past.
