Where is the HYROX Yokohama Venue?

Yokohama – The Port City of Japan
- Why “The Port City of Japan”? Yokohama became Japan’s first major port to open to the world in the 1800s. Since then, it’s been a gateway for trade, culture, and global influence. That’s why it’s often called “The Port City” — and it still has that exciting international vibe.
- History: Walk along Yamashita Park, visit the historic Red Brick Warehouses, or learn about Japan’s global connections at the Yokohama Port Museum.
- Culture: Explore Chinatown, one of the biggest in the world, ride the Cosmo Clock 21 Ferris wheel, or check out the cool art scene in Minato Mirai.

How to Get to HYROX Yokohama
Let’s figure out the best way to get you there!
By Plane
✈️ Nearest Airport:
Narita International Airport (NRT): This is one of the main international airports for the Tokyo area, and it’s a bit further out, about 80 km (50 miles) from Yokohama.
Haneda Airport (HND): This airport is much closer to Yokohama, only about 20 km (12.4 miles) away, and it’s super convenient for both international and domestic flights. If you can, fly into Haneda!
🚖 Getting to Pacifico Yokohama:
Taxi/Rideshare: You can grab a taxi from either airport. Rideshare apps like Uber are available, but taxis are very common in Japan. From Haneda, a taxi usually takes about 30-40 minutes. From Narita, it’s more like 60-90 minutes, depending on traffic. Taxis can be a bit pricey in Japan, so be ready for that.
From Haneda Airport (HND):
Keikyu Line + Minatomirai Line: This is a great way to go! Take the Keikyu Airport Line train from Haneda to Yokohama Station. Then, switch to the Minatomirai Line and get off at Minatomirai Station. Pacifico Yokohama is just a short walk (about 5 minutes) from there. You can check train info on the Japan Transit Planner or HyperDia.
Airport Limousine Bus: These buses go directly from Haneda to major hotels and areas in Yokohama, including stops near Pacifico Yokohama. It’s an easy option if you have luggage. Check the Airport Limousine Bus website for schedules and stops.
From Narita Airport (NRT):
Narita Express (N’EX) + Minatomirai Line: Take the Narita Express train to Yokohama Station. This is a comfy and direct train. Once at Yokohama Station, switch to the Minatomirai Line and go to Minatomirai Station. Pacifico Yokohama is a short walk from there. You can find schedules and buy tickets on the JR East website.
By Train
🚆 Nearest Train Station:
- Minatomirai Station: This is the closest station to Pacifico Yokohama, just a 5-minute walk away. It’s on the Minatomirai Line.
- Sakuragicho Station: This station is a bit further, about a 12-minute walk from Pacifico Yokohama. It’s on the JR Keihin-Tohoku Line, Yokohama Municipal Subway Blue Line, and JR Negishi Line.
Japan has an amazing train system! You can use the Japan Rail Pass if you’re traveling a lot around Japan.
By Car
🚗 Navigation: Type “Pacifico Yokohama” or “1-1-1 Minato Mirai, Nishi-ku, Yokohama” into your navigation app like Google Maps or Waze.

🚙 Parking: Pacifico Yokohama has underground parking. It can get busy during big events, so arriving early is a good idea if you’re driving. Parking usually costs money. Check the Pacifico Yokohama website for parking details.

Travel Tips
✔️ Get a Suica or Pasmo Card: These are like rechargeable travel cards (like an Oyster card in London). You can buy them at train stations and use them for almost all trains, subways, and buses in Japan. They make travel super easy!
✔️ Check train schedules: Japanese trains are famous for being on time, but it’s always good to check schedules before you leave, especially for longer trips.
✔️ Arrive early: Give yourself at least 1-2 hours (or more if coming from Narita) to travel to Pacifico Yokohama, find your way around (it’s a big convention center!), check in, and warm up.
✔️ Cash & Cards: While cards are accepted in many places, Japan is still a cash-friendly society, especially for smaller shops or restaurants. It’s always good to have some Japanese Yen (JPY) on hand. ATMs are widely available.
✔️ Language: Most train stations and major signs have English, but learning a few basic Japanese phrases can be very helpful and appreciated!
