How to Get to HYROX Riga

By Plane
✈️ Nearest Airport: Riga International Airport (RIX) is the main airport serving Riga. It’s about 10 km (6 miles) from the International Exhibition Center on Ķīpsala Island.
🚖 Getting to the Venue:
- Taxi/Rideshare: You can grab a taxi or use ride-sharing apps like Bolt or Yandex Taxi at the airport. This is often the easiest and quickest way, especially if you have luggage. Just be aware that traffic can be a bit unpredictable, so allow some extra time.
- Bus: Riga has a good bus system. Bus number 22 runs from the airport to the city center, and from there you can take other buses or trams that go to Ķīpsala Island. This is a cheaper option, but it might take longer than a taxi. You can use the Riga public transport website to plan your route.
By Train
🚆 Nearest Train Station: Riga Central Station (Rīgas Centrālā stacija) is the main train station in Riga. If you’re coming from other cities in Latvia or nearby countries, you’ll likely arrive here. From the train station, you can take a bus, tram, or taxi to Ķīpsala Island.
By Public Transport (Bus, Tram, Trolleybus)
- Bus: Several bus lines go to Ķīpsala Island. Again you can use the Riga public transport website to find the best route from where you are.
- Tram: Tram lines also connect to Ķīpsala Island.
- Trolleybus: Riga also has trolleybuses, which can be an option depending on where you’re coming from.
From the City Center to the Venue
Ķīpsala Island is connected to the city center by a bridge, so it’s relatively easy to get there.
By Car
🚗 Navigation: Type “International Exhibition Center, Ķīpsalas iela 8, Riga, LV-1048, Latvia” into Google Maps, Waze, or Apple Maps.

💡 Travel Tips:
✔️ E-talons: Riga uses an electronic ticketing system called e-talons for public transport. You can buy e-talons from ticket machines or use a mobile app.
✔️ Check public transport schedules: Use the Riga public transport website to check the bus, tram, and trolleybus schedules before you leave.
✔️ Arrive early: Give yourself plenty of time (at least 1-2 hours) to travel to the International Exhibition Center, find your way around, check in, and warm up. It’s always better to be early!
✔️ Stay nearby (if possible): If you can find a hotel or accommodation in the city center or on Ķīpsala Island, it will make getting to HYROX much easier.
✔️ Cash & Cards: Most places in Riga accept credit cards, but it’s always good to have some Euros (€) on hand for small things, tips, or just in case.
✔️ Latvian phrases help: While many people speak English, knowing a few Latvian phrases can be useful:
