✈️ Nearest Airport: Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) is the main international airport serving Taipei and is about 40 km (25 miles) from the Nangang International Exhibition Center.
🚖 Getting to the Venue:
- Taxi/Rideshare: Taxis are available at the airport. Ride-sharing services like Uber operate in Taiwan, but their availability can be more limited than taxis. A taxi or rideshare from Taoyuan Airport to the Nangang Exhibition Center typically takes 40-60 minutes, depending heavily on traffic. Be prepared for potential communication challenges if you don’t speak Mandarin. Having your destination written in Chinese can be very helpful, Google translate is a quick and easy way to do this on your phone.
- Airport MRT & Metro: This is normally the cheapest way. Take the Airport MRT (Taoyuan Metro) to Taipei Main Station. Then, transfer to the Blue Line (Bannan Line, MRT Line 5) and get off at Nangang Exhibition Center Station (南港展覽館站). The journey takes approximately 45-60 minutes in total, including transfers. You can grab your Airport MRT ticket at the airport.
By Train
🚆 Nearest Train Station: Taipei Nangang Station (南港車站) is a major transport hub with connections to the Taiwan High-Speed Rail (HSR), Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) regular trains, and the Taipei Metro. From Nangang Station, you can easily connect to the Nangang Exhibition Center by Metro (Blue Line) or a short taxi/bus ride.
By Metro (MRT)
🚇 Take the Blue Line (Bannan Line, MRT Line 5) directly to Nangang Exhibition Center Station (BL23) (南港展覽館站). The venue is a short walk (a few minutes) from Exit 4 or 5 of the station.

FAQ’s
Is HYROX harder than a marathon?
HYROX and a marathon test fitness in very different ways. A marathon is 42.2 km of continuous running, demanding long-distance endurance and pacing. HYROX combines 8 km of running with eight functional workout stations, placing repeated high-intensity demands on strength, power and cardiovascular fitness throughout the event. Many athletes find HYROX more intense in short bursts and harder overall on muscular fatigue and pacing strategy, but a marathon requires greater sustained aerobic endurance over a much longer distance. It’s not strictly “harder”, just different — HYROX is a full-body challenge, while a marathon is a pure endurance test.
How much is the Taipei HYROX race?
Official pricing for HYROX Taipei isn’t published on the main event page yet, but past Asian HYROX events — including Taipei — have had entry fees around NT$ 3,150 – NT$ 3,500 (roughly US $130 – $145) depending on category and booking phase. These prices are typical for the region and may vary with add-ons like refund flexibility.
Are you allowed to eat during HYROX?
Yes — you can consume food (like energy gels) during a HYROX race but only if it was already on your person at the start of the event. You may not accept food or drinks from spectators or others mid-race; official aid stations provide water and drinks along the course. Carrying gels from the start and using them during the event is permitted under the official rules.
